Tuesday Tweet: A Crest fit for a King

When I first saw the image from this glass plate negative I couldn’t help but notice the tufts of feathers that spike out from the heads of these birds. This part of a bird’s plumage is known as the crest. When I reviewed the negative envelope to find the caption that revealed the identification of these birds, I instantly thought of a similar, and notably famous, hairstyle.

Is it just me, or do the coifs of these Kingfishers remind you of any similarly named “royalty”? The King of Rock & Roll perhaps?
